Caggie Dunlop Admits She Left Made In Chelsea Because She Was Going “Nuts” and Had Lost Herself

Posted on: August 30, 2013

Caggie Dunlop was the poster girl of Made In Chelsea.

Miss Jones met the stunning Chelsea girl at the Launch of her ISWAI pop-up shop on the Kings Road.  Spencer Mathews, Oliver Proudlock and Hugo Taylor all turned up to support Caggie’s new shop.

Miss Jones interviewed Caggie about her shop (interview coming soon) but Caggie also revealed something rather interesting – why she left Made In Chelsea: “I was going a little nuts.  Just the invasion of privacy and I stopped being able to see what was real, what I felt and what was being manipulated into me and that was affecting my relationship with my friends.  It just all happened so quickly and it was so intense.  I just thought ‘I don’t know how much more I can deal with this’.”

It must have been quite alarming to walk away from a TV program that has sprung you into fame and been your only career.  Yet Caggie relied on her music: “conveniently my music gave me a great opportunity to go and do something different.  Maybe if I didn’t have that I would have kept doing it (Made In Chelsea) because we were getting great stuff off the back of it but the music was really a passion I found on the show and I realized I really loved it and I have to give it a crack so that’s why I did it.”

Caggie may be beautiful and famous but she is also struggling with her plight for pop stardom.  “I’m trying to do it as organically as possible to gain the credibility that I may have lost from the show.  Because reality TV star goes pop star is not such a successful road.  So I’ve just gone back to basics and I’ve been writing all my own material and meeting people."

It is very easy to stereotype the Made In Chelsea cast both current and former but Caggie didn’t fit into the mould (which is a good thing).
