REVIEW: Enoteca Turi

What?

Enoteca Turi

Where?

Relocated from Putney High Street to pretty Pimlico Road.

The Vibes:

Though a smaller restaurant, the new premise on Pimlico Road offers a beautiful private dining space for a true Italian family feast. And it is all about family charm in Enoteca Turi, as owners Giuseppe and Pamela Turi welcome us on arrival as they do for all customers, local or from a far. The restaurants bare brick wine cellar interior echo’s the extensive wine collection, with wine suggestions for every dish on the menu.

What we Ate:

To Start, the Romano artichoke heart was delicate and nutty served on a sprinkling of spelt wheat, topped with slow cooked egg and pecorino cream.

As expected, the fresh pasta is excellent, and all recommendations from our servers were on point.

I opted for the maize Tagitlaire with cannelloni beans and tender cured pork cheek. Enjoyed with some of Enoteca Turi’s in house baked breads and focaccia.

Maltagliati, literally translating to ‘ poorly cut ‘ , is unique pasta is cut in irregular shapes and thickness, in our case, pretty green triangular pasta sheets. Served with fishy gurnard ragout, with colourful cime di rape and Vesuvius pacchetelle tomatoes.

Finish your meal with setteveli (seven veils), a layered confection of chocolate and hazelnut heaven that is completely to die for!

What We Drank:

As mentioned, the restaurant offers a wine collection that has all been carefully chosen to perfectly complement the menu; each wine-producing region of Italy is well represented.

We Recommend:

The slow cooked marinated rabbit starter was finished in picture perfect fashion, while the flavours were wonderfully balanced, with the rich rabbit bedded on smoked British ricotta, garnished with black garlic and red chicory.

Our Thoughts:

Enoteca Turi was buzzing on the Tuesday evening that we visited and it is no surprise that this local haunt is drawing in customers from all over. The flawless service mirrors the elegant dishes. The beautiful dining room is idea for an intimate private dining experience for a corporate client dinner or friends gather, we definitely recommend Enoteca Turi.
