REVIEW: Chotto Matte New Weekend Brunch!

Chotto Matte, London’s energetic Nikkei restaurant, adds to the buzz of Soho with a new weekend brunch experience launching this August.

11-13 Frith Street, Soho, London W1D 4RB

Chotte Mate takes guests on a culinary journey that dishes up inventive Peruvian dishes with a modern, Japanese twist, bringing the energy of underground Tokyo and the Latin American spirit of lively Lima to London. From the moment you step into Chotte Matte, you are engulfed by a wave of cool beats and stylish vibes!

What we ate

The brunch menu offers a carefully chosen five-course tasting menu featuring the best of Nikkei cuisine, with exceptional dishes such as sea bass ceviche with Peruvian corn and Leche de Tigre; and Asado De Tira, a beef short rib with dashi marinated asparagus and deliciously creamy purple potato.

The selection of signature sushi with the brunch menu showcase the best quality yellow tail, salmon and tuna.

What we drank

The weekend brunch experience starts upon arrival with one of Chotto Matte’s signature cocktails, which include the classic summery Pimm’s, the signature Bloody Mary and the Pisco Sour. There will also be the option of dignified Japanese and Scottish whiskey.

The sommelier has expertly paired the menu with Prosecco di Valdobbiadene or a choice of excellent Spanish white and red wines. We enjoyed some Sunday bubbles with the Prosecco pairing that did not disappoint.

We Recommend

From the tempuira, the Nikkei Sepia was excellent. Crispy calamari served with a spicy aji amarillo emulsion
