This festive season, The London Shuffle Club will be popping up in The Truman Brewery. Hot on the heels of last year’s sell out shuffle, the pop up is back, bigger and better than ever before. All Londoners will want this Christmas is to get into the lanes to play the classic American game that is taking Brooklyn, Miami and now the big smoke by storm.

The London Shuffle Club will house an impressive 12 lanes with a private room with four lanes at Brick Lane’s most iconic venue. Guests will enter via ‘The Front Room’ which will house the main bar serving up killer cocktails and excellent pizza by The London Pizza Club. There will be a games area where guests can pit themselves against each other on the snapback shuffleboard tables or popular American lawn game, cornhole, where contenders attempt to get ‘a bag in the hole’ whilst tapping their toes to disco tunes by resident DJS.

Moving into ‘The Main Room’, guests will encounter all the energy and excitement of deck shuffleboarding. The hot nightlife trend in Brooklyn since 2014, Shuffleboarding originated on cruise ships at the beginning of the 20th century as a popular on-deck activity. The London Shuffle Club has given the sport a new lease of life, injecting some quirky fun and style into the club where instead of pensioners, you’ll find bright young things pushing discs down a bowling alley-style lane surrounded by retro Miami inspired posters, palm trees and pink flamingos.

In the true spirit of Christmas, ‘The Other Room’ will be available for private bookings and will be the perfect venue for an action-packed yuletide party. Guests can celebrate the end of the year with their own bar, seating and sound system whilst learning a new skill.

The beauty of the game is it is extremely easy to learn and can be done with a cocktail in hand, the aim being to slide your ‘biscuits’ onto the top sections of the scoring triangle at the opposite end of your lane. Overshoot, and you’ll end up in the ‘kitchen’ which immediately knocks 10 points off your score.

Founder of The London Shuffle Club, Graeme Hawkins said: “Last year exceeded all expectations, the response was incredible and now we want to do it all again. The game’s appeal is in just how easy it is – anyone can take it up after a quick tutorial and it won’t take long before you feel like you’re good enough to go pro.”
