REVIEW: L’AMI MALO

What?

L’AMI MALO – A modern crêperie breaking with tradition. Turning the traditional crêpe on its head and elevating this humble dish into something altogether more elegant.

French owners, Emilien Lesourd and Vincent Couvreur, have taken inspiration from the coastal town of St Malo in Brittany – famous for its delicious galettes – and their childhood memories of visits to local crêperies, to create
a distinctly modern (with just a hint of nostalgia) version of a classic crêperie.

Where?

Located in London’s trendy Spitalfields.

The Vibes?

Oozes French savoir faire – stylish and modern yet warm and welcoming.

What We Ate?

Starters:

Goats Cheese Croquettes with Beetroot: You can never go wrong with goats cheese! Loved these!

Hamhock Maki Rolls- Loved these so much flavour!

Main Course

Confit Duck- Just perfect!

Mushroom Fricassée Galette- with spinach, mixed leaf salad, parmesan, tarragon chimichurri sauce- Must order! So yum!

Dessert

We went for the Signature Vanilla and Rhubarb Cheesecake

Our Thoughts?

Was so pleasantly surprised as I am not normally a fan of savoury crepes. Love the ambiance and the area is amazing- a little hidden street near Liverpool Street without the hustle and bustle!

We felt as if we were in a little restaurant in the country in France!
