From Monday 4th June, Italian Mozzarella Bar Obicà will be bringing a touch of Italia-cool and a taste of authentic Italian aperitivo to London with the launch of ‘Il Bar di Obicà’ – an all-encompassing aperitivo experience. Visitors will be treated to a selection of bespoke Italian cocktails, created in the shadow of Milan’s magnificent Duomo, live DJ’s and a changing menu of weekly special artisanal small plates served complimentary from 5pm to 8pm daily.


Embodying the spirit of Italian conviviality at its restaurants in Soho, South Kensington and The City, Obicà’s new ultimate after-work drinks experience channels relaxed back-street Italian bar vibes, with specially curated music from some of Italy’s best up-and-coming DJs. This vibrant and upbeat early-evening gathering will see local workers, fashionistas and visitors alike sip on a cocktails, nosh on small bites and enjoy good company and great music.


Obicà are celebrating the launch with the introduction of 8 new cocktails devised at their Il Bar di Obicà concept, located in luxury department store La Rinascente’s Milan and Palermo locations, with a particular focus on Italian cocktail traditions served with cosmopolitan flare. Must try serves include:


Italian Gin Sour – London Dry Gin, Camomille Liquor, Amaro Braulio, Lemon Juice (£14)

Cool Fashioned – Nikka All Mart Whiskey, Fag Liquor, Grapefruit Bitters (£14)

Pears & Peppers – Pear Brandy, 5 Peppers Syrup, Orange Liquor, Lime (£13)


These will be served alongside Obicà’s extensive Italian wine list, Amari & Liquori, beers and soft drinks, as well as six exclusive cocktails created in partnership with Campari that focus on the trendy herbal, slightly bitter Italian aperitif spirits, including:


APERÓ – Aperol, Gin, Angostura Bitters, Lemon Juice (£9)

Americano – Campari, Cinzano Vermouth 1757 Red, Soda Water (£9)

Negroni Sbagliato – Campari, Cinzano Vermouth 1757 Red, Prosecco (£9)


However, food is definitely not an afterthought. Between 5pm and 8pm daily, guests who order a cocktail or drink will have the opportunity to sample an exclusive complimentary dish, from a weekly specials menu that focuses on the fresh Italian produce that forms the backbone of Obicà’s approach to food. Treccia di Mozzarella di Bufala con Fragole – Buffalo Mozzarella Braid with Strawberries

Carciofi Sott’Olio e Pomodori Secchi – Roasted Marinated Artichokes & Sun-Dried Tomatoes

When the clock ticks over to 5pm and the slowly sun starts to sink, something rather magical happens at the St Paul’s (Thursdays) and Poland Street (Fridays) locations, Italian DJ Mirko performs modern soul and electro live to the gathering crowds of post work revellers. So for the ultimate in post work relaxing head down to St Paul’s or Poland Street Obicà restaurants to enjoy sumptuous Italian cuisine with an urban flair to be sampled alongside unrivalled Mediterranean cocktails.


For those looking to dine after their cocktail or swing by for a midweek lunch between meetings, Obicà’s new summer menu, created by famed Italian Chef and TV presenter Alessandro Borghese, celebrates the very best ingredients from Alessandro’s homeland with an emphasis on food to share. Fresh, colourful and light, the dishes on the new menu champion flavours from across the country, from Puglia and the Amalfi coast, to Tuscany and Veneto. The impressive Mozarella, salad and small plate selections are perfect for a light lunch or to pair with your aperitivo, highlights include Mozzarella e Granchio (Mozzarella and Crab Meat) and Croccchette di Patate e Prugne a deliciously light and crunchy potato croquette with bacon and dried plum.


No Obicà menu would be complete without premium secondi plates and pasta dishes, now featuring several new seasonal dishes perfect for the warmer months including taglioni served with tiger prawns, courgettes, Datterini tomatoes and fresh thyme. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to try the 48-hour proved pizza, prepared with stone-ground Petra del Molino Quaglia flour and premium Italian ingredients such as Nduja sausage, stracciatella di burrata and organic tomatoes and basil.
