This month, award-winning, New York restaurant RedFarm, will open its doors and bring modern Chinese cuisine and supercharged dim-sum to London’s Covent Garden. With dim-sum extraordinaire Joe Ng and restaurateur Ed Schoenfeld at the helm, this is RedFarm’s first venue outside of New York and plans to deliver the same downtown vibes and famed creative menu.
Sourcing only the highest quality products and ingredients, Joe’s menu takes a clean, fresh approach to Chinese food and will offer clever dim sum creations and small plates, for which Ng is known. Small plates include Joe’s signature, RedFarm Chicken Salad, Spicy Crispy Beef, Mushroom & Vegetable Spring Rolls and Yuzu-Wasabi Shrimp; mains including Grilled and Marinated Rib Steak and Joe’s famous Pac Man shrimp dumplings – a parade of colourful dumplings that look just like the iconic game.
Situated next to Covent Garden’s Balthazar, the venue will feature the modern rustic decor of New York and is spread across three floors. The ninety-six seat restaurant has been carefully considered to embody a casual and cool dining experience, similar to its US counterpart, with exposed white brick walls, light wooden floors and furniture throughout. Long communal tables sit across each floor, allowing for tables of up to 26, along with more intimate booths and seating at the bar.
