A warm atmosphere allows dining at the restaurant to be somewhat relaxed without taking away from its classic elegance.
We were presented with a menu of classic British favourites, you surely can’t go wrong with your choices.
Seared scallops, burnt apple pureé, horseradish, parsnip, dill – beautifully presented, cooked to perfection.
Salmon Tartare (special of the day) served with sliced bread and butter – A very creamy yet pleasing dish, whilst the fish eggs add a burst of refreshing flavour, the bread was the perfect accompaniment.
Fish ‘n’ chips, crushed peas, fries, tartare sauce – a favourite of mine! My only wish is that they were chunky chips instead of fries. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed indulging into this guilty pleasure.
Sea bream fillet, artichoke puree, saffron and dill gnocchi, samphire – hearty and warming, perfect for a chilly night!
Sticky toffee pudding, vanilla ice cream – crunchy, sweet and fulfilling, everything you could want out of a dessert.
Chocolate torte, strawberry, pistachio, crème fraîche – decadent and satisfying. Think rich chocolate digestive slice with strawberry ice cream and pistachio crumb. Personally not a fan of creme fraiche with dessert but this one’s a crowd pleaser.
If you’re looking for classic, filling and tasty dishes in a sophisticated atmosphere, Lanes of London is for you. With the iconic red phone boxes and the buzz of Mayfair in sight, the restaurant manages to capture the essence of the city and display its pride for the country without needing displaying flags in their windows.
