Sohie’s Soho is the second instalment to be opened from it’s original home in Chelsea. Housed in a former cinema, the Brand offer a straightforward premise: ‘great food, great drinks and great fun!’. Upon entrance we were greeted with a huge oval bar under an impressive chandelier, the bright and airy feel of this huge space is a pleasant contrast to the bustle and hustle of Soho. We were treated to front row seats in front of the wood burner.
We had Beef and tomato Pasties alongside cockles and beans to start, slow cooked west country beef for mains and caramelised pineapple sorbet for dessert. Unsurprisingly the beef stole the show and Sophie’s did well on creating a relaxed atmosphere for us. Sophie’s goes against the generally masculine aesthetic of most London steakhouses, offering vegetarian, fish and chicken options.
After dinner we checked out the speakeasy cocktail bar downstairs, Jack Solomon’s club. Another Huge, well presented space, we were treated to live music and delicious cocktails.
With winter fast approaching, Sophie’s Soho is a great choice for a centrally located restaurant, with its warm atmosphere, hearty food and rustic aesthetic, Sophie’s is perfect for entertaining clients or an end of week meal with drinks.
