October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month, where organisations all over the world come together to highlight the importance of breast cancer awareness, education and research. This month, we are glad to see a number of restaurants adding a touch of pink to their menus.
This October, Bluebird in Chelsea are hosting their Think Pink Afternoon Tea. Accomplished pastry chef, Roger Prizey, has created an all pink, three tiered afternoon tea selection. The tea is in association with The Palm, Whispering Angel’s newest Vin de Provence Rose.The menu includes a delicate selection of red velvet rolls, raspberry macaroons, sweetheart battenberg, scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve and a selection of sandwiches. The afternoon tea is £26.50 per person, in support of the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
Tom Aikens’ Michelin-starred Chelsea flagship is serving The Pink Plate Dessert during October. The rosy toned platter serves candied beetroots, yoghurt parfait, beetroot jellies and port syrup for £9. The restaurant will also donate a third of the profits to Cancer Research UK. In order to raise funds for the Haven, Oxo Tower Brasserie are hosting an impressive three-course lunch with cocktails. The event is in collaboration with Pink Buddies, a support group for breast-cancer survivors. To begin with, cocktails and mocktails are served at the bar with £1 from each drink donated to The Haven. The menu has been fortified with antioxidant rich ingredients to help boost the immune system.

During this month, the Chelsea Riverside Brasserie at the Wyndham Grand Hotel, is hosting a Positively Pink Afternoon Tea in collaboration with The Haven. The charity offers physical and emotional support for people affected by cancer, and 10% of the proceeds from the event go to The Haven. The afternoon tea is appropriately themed with pink-tinged sandwiches filled with smoked salmon, cream cheese and baby spinach, among other super food ingredients such as the green-tea éclairs, or pistachio-and-raspberry slice.
The Positively Pink afternoon tea costs £25, or £35 with a glass of Taittinger Rosé Champagne.

The Clapham North is hosting a range of events such as their Pink Afternoon Tea on Saturdays and Sundays. The tea will include all of your favourite classics including finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and preserves, chocolate-and-hazelnut brownies, and chocolate eclairs. The afternoon tea costs £16 or £23 with Champagne. £2 from each afternoon tea sold will be donated to The Haven.
Additionally, on Friday 26 October, Four O Nine will host a Pink Lunch from 12-3pm for £25. Finally, on Wednesday 31 October, the restaurant will host a wine tasting evening. Ticket for the wine tasting cost £50, with £5 from each ticket sold donated to The Haven. Also, diners ordering from the à la carte menu will see £1 per dish donated to charity.
