REVIEW: Mille Patisserie

Fourteen Ten have announced the launch of Mille Patisserie, serving specialist Gâteau Mille Crêpes 2 minutes walk from Paddington Station. All of the cakes are expertly made in-house using premium ingredients such as English organic wheat flour from Shipton Mill, Valrhona 70% dark chocolate tempered in-house, Sicilian lemons juiced by hand and sesame seeds imported from Nagoya in Japan baked and ground in-house. The light-as-air mille cakes are a creamy delight. Despite only recently opening, the patisserie is already very popular, attracted workers on their lunch break and passers-by. A visit to the patisserie makes for a really unique experience with a range of inventive flavours that are sure to spark your curiosity.

Mille serve eight flavours of the classic French cake including:

Original – Simply crêpes and French pastry cream
Chocolate – Valrhona 70% dark chocolate tempered in-house
Lemon – Sicilian lemons juiced by hand to make house-made lemon curd
Coffee – Arabica coffee beans carefully brewed at perfect water temperature
Earl Grey – Twining loose tea celebrated for its bergamot floral scent
Passion Fruit – Fresh purée with no added sugar or preservatives
Sesame – Sesame seeds imported from Nagoya in Japan baked and ground in-house
Matcha – Made with Kyoto’s most prestigious brand of matcha powder

Drinks: 
Matcha Latte – A fragrant green tea with a luxurious milk topping
Strawberry Clouds – An elegant jasmine tea served upon a bed of fresh strawberries and topped with a velvety cream cheese
Mango Clouds – An elegant jasmine tea served with fresh mango and topped with a velvety cream cheese
Calpis – A light and creamy cold drink, a favourite from Japan
Grape Calpis – A soft and deliciously creamy cold drink with a refreshing burst of grape juice

The talented head chef is the mastermind behind the creative flavours, which change on a weekly basis. The head chef works her magic to tirelessly create and explore new flavours to surprise their customers. Either eat your cake at the patisserie, or take it away beautifully packaged to enjoy at home!

 

The Experience

The small and cosy patisserie is located on a quiet side street in Paddington, making it the perfect place to enjoy a slice of the finest Mille Crêpes in the city. The bright whites and pastel themes tie together the quaint patisserie with its stylish packaging, letting the colourful and vivid Crêpes really stand out. There is a real passion and enthusiasm for the brand, which really shines through when you visit, and if you are curious, the staff will tell you all about the fascinating cake making procedure.
