REVIEW: Enoteca Rabezzana

Enoteca Rabezzana is an authentic Italian place that serves up tapas-style plates and larger dishes situated in the heart of the City, conveniently located near multiple tube stops.

Enoteca is an intimate wine bar with extremely warm and welcoming staff who were more than accommodating.

We sat in front of the big open windows, a perfect place to satisfy my people watching needs. The restaurant was comfortably busy with all patrons enjoying they food and wine.

The menu was extensive, filled with a wide range of flavours. There are also multiple specials from each day to also choose from. I struggled to decided with all the option that were on offer.

For starts I had “marinated sea bass carpaccio, tarrago and prickly pears.” My companion had “pan seared scallops, celeriac, mushroom powder and black squid ink.” The sea bass carpaccio was absolutely incredible, so fresh, incredibly light and had so many flavour levels to it. When I tried the scallops I was struck by how perfectly cooked they were and I loved the black squid ink that accompanied it.
The starters where perfectly paired with wine. The sea bass was accompanied by “Lantieri Francia Corta Cuvee Brut” and the scallops with “Dalle Ore Il Riesling.”

For mains I had tonnarello, red mullet, lime butter and pistachio pesto. My friend ordered ravioli, truffle, mushroom, pecorino cheese and black pepper sauce.
The Tonnarello was so interesting, I have never had all those flavours together and I loved them. The lime butter perfectly contrasted with the pistachio pesto but also complimented and the same time.
Mushroom, truffle and pecorino cheese are some of my favourite flavours and therefore the ravioli was exquisite.
The Tonnarello was paired with “Gulfi Carjcanti” which was very fresh and crisp compared the the heaviness from the dish. The ravioli was paired with “Corvina Veronese.”

For dessert we shared poached peaches, crumb, coulis and a panna cotta with mango.
The peaches were delicious! Very light but also satisfied my sweet tooth needs. The panna cotta was incredibly creamy.

Enoteca Rabezzana is a lovely authentic restaurant perfect for all occasions and welcomes all clientele.
