Tejo (pronounced Tey-Ho) is Colombia’s national sport and bar game that combines beer and exploding targets in a super fun environment. Tejo Social, the UK’s first Tejo bar, will be launching as a pop-up at the Bargehouse, a 4-floor Warehouse in Southbank, just in time for the Easter bank holiday from 8th April through to 19th April. The pop-up will also feature Colombian street food, beers, cocktails, live music, live art and free Salsa lessons.
The legendary Distriandina The Colombian (A cornerstone of the Colombian community in Elephant & Castle) will be serving authentic street food dishes such as Empanadas (fried cornbread fritters) and Calentada with slow-cooked beef or chicken, rice, red beans, and plantain (vegan options will also be available). Then try bite-sized Buñuelos (Colombian donuts) made with Costeño cheese and drilled with dulce de leche caramel sauce.
The bar will be serving Colombian single-origin espresso martinis, Club Colombia beers and Caleño – a non-alcoholic Colombian inspired spirit and tonic.
Each ticket includes a 45-minute game with your own Tejo expert but you can stay for the evening with street food and drinks available all night.
