Noble Rot Soho is in the former site of the historic Gay Hussar, and is the second restaurant from Dan Keeling and Mark Andrew, the duo behind Noble Rot magazine and Keeling Andrew & Co wine importers.
Noble Rot Soho’s menu is overseen by Head Chef Alex Jackson, and executive chef Stephen Harris, includes subtle references to The Gay Hussar’s storied past with dishes such as eggs Casino, cabbage stuffed with game and sour cream, and a daily goulash, alongside Robert Carrier’s pâte aux herbes and a whole roast chicken with morels and Vin Jaune to share for two.
The wine list brings to Soho more of what made Noble Rot Lamb’s Conduit St ‘Wine List of the Year’ at the National Restaurant Awards for three consecutive years. From the Rotters’ much-loved ‘house’ Vinho Verde ‘Chin Chin’, starting at £3 per glass, to the rare, interstellar wines of Jacques Selosse, Frederic Mugnier, Emidio Pepe, Cecile Tremblay, Lynch Bages and Auguste Clape. There is something for everybody’s tastes.
