Ever combined canal cruising with fine dining? If not then London Shell Co has a festive treat for you. The company was founded in 2015 by siblings Leah and Harry Lobek as a pop-up celebrating the best of British seafood. Using only the freshest ingredients the permanent restaurant is housed aboard a wide beam cruiser moored in Paddington. The unique setting will host a unique dining experience during December, which can also be booked for private festive parties. The floating restaurant will be catering for a collection of intimate festive lunches and dinners. The static dining experience will allow guests to take shelter from the cold, and enjoy a delicious three course meal starting at £35. Cruising lunches will also be available on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th December.
Ella Canta has released a decadent seven course festive menu, Into the Gold. Themed around the precious metal, the menu is inspired by the fact that Mexico is one of the largest mining countries in the world. Available from 24th November-23rd December, the Into the Gold menu will be adorned with dishes fit for royalty. Specialty dishes include corn soup, crispy shallots, popcorn and chives with a necklace of black pearls and golden strings, lamb ribs, wild greens and sikil-pak de hoja santa sauce, and cacao churros with eggnog ice cream. priced at £80pp, the menu promises to be a rich and indulgent one.
Plum + Spilt Milk at Great Northern Hotel offer simple food, cooked to perfection. From the 26th November – 30th December, guests can enjoy a luxurious four course menu. For £43.50 pp, dishes include crispy pork belly with black pudding and baby spinach to start, and traditional favourite main dishes such as Norfolk Bronze turkey with chestnut stuffing and pigs in blankets, parsley-crusted fillet of cod with woodland mushroom, or pan-fried gnocchi with baked squash – all served with duck fat roast potatoes and seasonal veg. the festive theme does not stop there, with a selection of Christmas pudding iced parfait with brandy snaps, Pedro Xiemenez jelly and frosted cranberries, or lemon, olive oil and almond cake, followed by mince pie crumble tartlets for dessert.
